Our New Addition!

To the funiture in our home that is. Clark and I have been wanting a chair for the den b/c we only had the couch and glider rocker (which we bought used, painted & put new cushions on-but it's still worn-out). Klaussner had a furniture sale on Valentines Day, so I got up early and was there by 8:15 am. There really weren't very many people either so I took advantage of that and went through quickly. I found one chair that I LOVED, but it had a pattern on it and I worried about it matching the couch, also we have striped curtains & patterned lamp shades. So I kept looking and went back to the front room where I saw a khaki chair that had originally caught my eye when I first got there. Amazingly, no one had bought it. So after a little advice from Frissen & Clarky, I bought it for only $159! However; when I got home I realized how big it was and it did not fit in the spot where the glider rocker was. So, I spent the ENTIRE day rearranging the den trying to figure out what looked right. Clark finally came in to help me and told me I could hook the t.v. up on the other wall (which I didn't know before) and that's all I needed to hear. Here's what I've come up with for now.
I've still got some finishing touches I'm working on, but the rearranging also gave me some space to use some items I didn't have a place for (the wall shelf, some frames & accent pieces). We also want to get an LCD tv (which we've been wanting to do for quite some time now, but have not had the money) with some or our tax return money. I also did a lot of work in my bedroom Sunday, but it's not quite done yet (I will share pics when it is). I don't think it would be quite so hard to arrange everything either if we didn't have all these big toys to put somewhere. But I think Izzy can actually get to everything better now or she's just seeing it all in a new light b/c she keeps going to toys she didn't really play with b/f and ohhhhing & awwwing.

Our Little Valentine!

We had a nice Valentines Day and we hope you all did as well. We got Izzy the Fisher Price Cow & Milk Jug Bowling Set, a Backyardigans Sticker Book, some Reeses minature hearts, a Little Mermaid cold pack (for all the little bumps and bruises we are accruing) and a card all in a pink bucket. I got Clark a used DS game that he wanted a Christmas, but didn't get. Clark gave me a very unique gift; a jar (w /lid) that has 10 hearts sandblasted on it and in each heart you could put whatever you wanted to say. He put things like "Mommy", "August 30, 2007 (Izzy's bday)", "September 4, 2004 (our anniversary)", etc. and it had Hershey Kisses inside. I thought it was pretty neat, especially since I have a ton of jars in my house. We also made little Valentine Candy bags for Uncle Marshall & Kaylee. Clark & I also decided to get Chilis to go since we had gotten a gift card for Christmas. Well, we called it in at 6:15 and they said it would be ready in 16 minutes...yea Clark didn't get home with it until 7:45. The good news is though, they gave it to us for FREE! We're still not quite sure what happened with it other than they were slammed, but everyone else seemed to be getting theirs fine. We think they gave ours to someone else by mistake, but hey who cares? I don't! It was free! Yeah us!

Panty Raid!

So I was just blow drying my hair this morning and turned around to find this:

I believe the pictures say it all.

*I wasn't a big fan of plastering my underwear all over the internet, but this is just too good not to share. So I'm taking one for the team today! :)

Testing Our Boundaries...

Like all children do, Izzy has started testing her limits. The only thing is...I've only ever been an innocent bystander merely observing when other children do this, now it's my baby pouting, whining, screaming, throwing mini-tantrums, etc. Yikes! What other parents don't tell you is...it's easy to discipline them when needed and ignore all the rest...the hard part is not laughing! The funniest thing she does is "fuss at mommy" (yea, it's funny now). For example, this is the best picture I could get of her in this adorable outfit b/c she wanted the camera and I wanted a pic first. She proceeded to let me know she wanted it by balling up both fists, stomping her feet and screaming at me in toddler language (which I can only imagine what she was saying). Then she crossed her arms (by the way she was not smiling this time) and pouted to Pap.

Izzy has also learned to say "me" and she knows what it means. So we hear "mememememe" quite a bit as well and really, most of the time, it is unbearable cute and hilarious.

1 Hour Project!

Our fridge is over-run with invitations, baby info, pictures, etc. So I recovered my old sun/moon/stars corkboard with a more befitting fabric and voila! The best part is, it only took me an hour to strip off the old and put on the new!

As you can see, I have also moved my desk into our dining room "nook". It fits perfectly! I still want to add something else, a chalkboard, dry erase board, magnetic strip; I'm just not sure which. I also plan on decorating my desk a little nicer, this is just what got thrown on there for now.

Humph...with a smile :)

First, when Sommer was here she brought her "Dora" chair (which is kind of like our "Backyardigans" couch). Izzy loved this chair. She could pick it up and move it to different locations before settling down to relax for 1/2 a second. So we decided Izzy needed a Dora chair as well. However, Mee Maw & Papaw beat us to the punch. Papaw brought it with him this week to use here at home. Next, this week Papaw taught Ms. Izzy how to cross her arms in front of her chest. Only she doesn't do it in an irritated manner ;) I mean how cute is this? Arm crossing takes on a whole new meaning!
