Redecorating

No, not our entire home; I'm not even finished decorating most rooms for the 1st time around! ha! But soon, we will be converting my sweet baby girl's crib into a toddler bed and she will need some new bedding. So...therefore I just HAVE to redo her room to go with the new bedding, right? Clark would say "NO!", but I say YES! This is the bedding I have picked-out at Target:The best part is I did her star nursery so cheaply the first time around I can afford to redecorate. I plan on doing her toddler room just as thrifty. In fact, she already has sheer butterflies in all different colors hung as a mobile above her crib. I got those at Kid to Kid in Apex and I think they still carry them. Also, I'm sure Hobby Lobby has some adorable butterflies out for Spring. I figured I better start early; it takes me a long time to do a project like this...I'll keep you posted on my progress:)

Cute Cousins!

During the last week my cousins Suzanne & Skye have been staying with us. Suzy has a stinkin' cute daughter Sommer who took right to me! I felt honored since, according to her Mama & Daddy (C.J.) , she is not very fond of people she doesn't know very well. One thing is for sure though, these two babies are polar opposites. Izzy is blonde haired, blue eyed, pastey white, prissy, calm & quite. Sommer has brown hair, brown eyes & olive skin, she is very busy, loud and already, very tomboyish. On Sunday Clark & I had Izzy and Sommer all day. Despite their differences, they played great together; both love Noggin & the Backyardigans couch! What more could two girls ask for?

Making Mommy Smile!

As many of you know, we have had a family tragedy this week, but even during this difficult time there are silver linings...

The Perfect Pampering Christmas Gift

So this is the absolute most wonderful body scrub in the whole wide world, and the best part is...it's homemade! KB made some for all us girls for Christmas (so don't ask me for the ingredients) and it is amazing! My skin has never been so soft and not just for a day, it lasts for several days. It is glorious! Thanks KB!

Our New Favorite Past-times!

But first, we had a nice a relatively quiet New Year's Eve dinner at Pap & Nanny's and then home for watching the ball drop. Izzy was a party animal in her PJ's, she even made until 10pm (but that was mainly due to the fact she had a 3 hour nap that day). On New Year's Day we had a yummy dinner with Papaw & MeeMaw after we had done some much needed touch-up painting to our dining room, kitchen and hallway. We had a very very wonderful, relaxing, productive, family-oriented vacation! In fact, I decided while I was off that I wanted to be a stay at home mom, which of all the things I've wanted to do and be in my life; that has never been one of them. *sigh* So on to the title of this post...
Lil' Miss. Izzy has discovered Clark's closet and loves to take off running down the hall, through the bedroom, into the closet, sits down on the floor and covers up with her daddy's pj pants or t-shirt (whichever is closest). It is probably the funniest thing I have yet to see her do!
Her other new favorite thing to do is pull all of our stuffed animals out of the storage baskets, study each one, show it to whoever is closest and then place it on the floor. There is a catch to this; she is terrified of the cows. There are 3 in the basket and each time she gets to one she wines, shifts her feet, points to the cows-for someone (not her)-to move it. Where this aversion to the cows has come from; we have no idea. Just less than 2 weeks ago she played fine with one of them that was previously in our bedroom. Also, the kind of funny thing is that we moved these storage baskets (which are stools as well) into the dining room area b/c the den was becoming over-crowded with all the new Christmas toys. So basically, now we're eating with about 50 stuffed animals scattered at our feet everyday. Who knew meal-time with that many guests could be so much fun?
Papaw to the rescue; saving Izzy from anymore contact with the evil cows! :)
